Supplies
SUPPLIES is an additional artistic work that accompanies ION's annual programs in various forms. Along with EDITIONS, each purchase of SUPPLIES supports the artists, off-spaces, and ION programs. SUPPLIES will continue to grow every year with new collaborations, involving various designers and artists, and continue to serve the initial idea of ION; solidarity and autonomy in arts.
With and for TUTORIAL, Clemens Reinecke designed a limited edition 3D printed USB stick, data-dent, loaded with a video. The work is inspired by the artist's previous sketches, a toothbrush guy with Elvis like toothpaste hairstyle, not taking life too seriously. In Clemens' work, the randomness of the object meets with another random item, a USB stick, creating the piece's name 'data-dent.' While the catchy branding name refers to the commerciality of artworks, the video inside the USB stick is the data, waiting to be deleted.
Clemens Reinecke (Leipzig) is an artist, illustrator, and graphic designer working with experimental drawing and painting, 3D animation and modeling, digital image creation, and CG. The artist explores banal or non-aesthetic form variations as a graphic narrative strategy by extracting them into a formal vocabulary and tests their viability as an image or compositional elements in the processual workflow.
